Known problems on the 2015 Ford Fusion

1.6L EcoBoost — coolant intrusion / fire $2,500–$6,000 to fix

The 1.6 EcoBoost cracks cylinder heads and lets coolant into the cylinder — overheating, then in a number of cases an engine-bay fire. Multiple recalls; the fix history matters a lot.

Check for: Coolant loss with no external leak, white exhaust smoke, overheating. Confirm every related recall is closed and whether the head/short-block was replaced.
